Healed wound
Granulectomy is a minor surgical procedure in which excess granulation tissue formed after an infection or local inflammation is removed. The purpose of the intervention is to clean the wound, eliminate the source of inflammation, and create optimal conditions for healing.
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia by excising the inflamed tissue and debriding the area. Recovery is generally short. For this reason the patient should follow the oral hygiene instructions provided by the dentist after the procedure, take any prescribed antibiotics, and attend post‑operative follow‑up appointments. The images in this gallery illustrate the procedure stages and the post‑operative course observed in patients treated at our clinic.
